For Jesus Diaz, the path to data analytics didn’t start in a classroom — it started while working shifts at his day job behind the frame counter at Michael’s. “I was keeping track of orders and numbers, noticing trends, spotting what I could improve,” he said. “Over time, I realized I was doing data analysis without even knowing it.”
That spark of insight turned into something more. After finishing college, Jesus took a leap of faith and enrolled in a data analytics bootcamp at Adelphi University. “It was a huge risk. I didn’t know what to expect,” he said. “The first few weeks were tough. But the more I learned — especially once we got into SQL and Python — the more I thought, ‘This is it. This is something I can really build a future around.’”
At Project Auxo, Jesus is doing exactly that. He’s been instrumental in creating dashboards that aim to help clients track accuracy, measure performance, and pinpoint areas for improvement across shifts and timeframes. “I want the dashboards to be simple but powerful,” he said. “So that whoever uses them can get the answers they need in just a couple of clicks."
For Jesus, data isn’t just about charts and numbers — it’s about storytelling. “When I’m working with data, I’m not just pulling what people ask for. I want to offer real insights and help companies make smarter decisions,” he said. “It’s like telling a story with the graphs and visuals. If it feels organic — if it clicks — then people trust the message. That’s what I want to accomplish.”
For Jesus, joining a startup has been a big shift from retail — but one he’s embraced wholeheartedly. “At Michael’s, I worked hard and helped people, but I didn’t always feel seen,” he said. “Here at Auxo, I feel like I’m part of something meaningful. The trust, the support — it motivates me to give my best every single day.”
When he’s not deep in data, Jesus is an artist working on a calligraphy-inspired series that draws from Arabic, Hebrew, and Japanese visual traditions. He also spends time with his family and two beloved dogs: GusGus, an 8-year-old Yorkie-Pomeranian mix, and Dohana, a rare Chow-Chow/wolf hybrid from Mexico.
From art to analytics, Jesus brings curiosity, care, and quiet determination to everything he does — and we’re proud to have him on the Auxo team.
